Biographical Sketch: Andrew Kusiak (Life Member, IEEE) is currently a Professor with the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Director of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory, The University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA, USA. He was the Chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering and the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. He is the author or coauthor of numerous books and hundreds of technical articles published in journals sponsored by professional societies, such as Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), ASME, Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), IEEE, Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and other societies. His current research interests include applications of computational intelligence in manufacturing, renewable energy, automation, sustainability, and healthcare.,Dr. Kusiak is a fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing (Springer Nature). He has served in several elected professional society positions as well as editorial boards of over 50 journals, including the editor position of five different IEEE Transactions. He is a frequent speaker at international meetings, conducts professional seminars, and consults for industrial corporations. |
